A Pathway to Systemic Change

The Bishop Griffin Resource Center has a rich history of serving those that are marginalized and in need of hope. The pandemic exposed the disparities in our community and put a spotlight on those struggling with food insecurity and a lack of material and economic resources. With the end of pandemic resources and inflation driving up costs, the families we serve continue to experience economic hardship and instability.

God has blessed the center’s ministry with steady growth and BGRC is now one of the busiest food pantries in the city. In 2022, the demand for services continued to climb and BGRC is currently on track to serve even more families in 2023. Over the past year, the BGRC has experienced a record number of new families seeking assistance.

Completion of the Bishop Griffin Resource Center’s new building has provided BGRC the opportunity to expand our vision and rethink our service delivery model. Our new center is designed to not only assist our neighbors in meeting their basic needs, but empower them to move beyond their current circumstances. Our goal is to provide those facing systemic poverty with tools, resources and services to overcome barriers and create viable pathways to self-sufficiency. Our new model is grounded in forging deeper connections with our community partners as well as with the families we serve. Bishop Griffin Resource Center’s new service delivery model will include increased access and expanded resources with space for our community partners to work alongside us. Our ministry is anchored by both a larger Community Store and a Mid-Ohio Market and will include programming in Health and Wellness, Education and Job Readiness, Technology Literacy, and Financial Wellness.
